On this Tangier to Fes and Sahara Desert Tour, you will experience the beauty and diversity of Morocco, from the imperial cities in the north to the stunning Sahara desert. Traveling by comfortable 4x4 or minibus, you will traverse roads, visit imperial cities, explore valleys, see kasbahs, pass by ports, witness gorges, and take a camel ride through the dunes. You will also get to visit Berber villages rich in history and culture, providing an authentic and unforgettable experience of Morocco.
On the first day, you will arrive in Tangier and will be picked up from the airport, port, or hotel. Then, you will depart for Chefchaouen, with a stop in the city of Tetouan, also known as the Spanish city. In the afternoon, you will arrive in Chefchaouen, where you will be met by an official guide for a tour of the white and blue city. You will walk through the narrow streets and admire the pale blue and white homes, taking in the beautiful scenery. Dinner and overnight accommodation will be at a hotel or riad in Chefchaouen.
On the second day, you will depart in the morning, crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains and visiting the Roman ruin city of Volubilis. You will have lunch in Meknes and some time to explore the Medina. In the evening, you will arrive in Fez, one of the four imperial cities in Morocco and considered to be the religious and cultural center of the country. You will spend the night at a riad or hotel.
Dedicated to discovering the intellectual center of the kingdom, our official guide will take you on a tour of the most interesting monuments in Fez. This includes the Medersas (Koranic schools), such as Chahrij, Bouinania Attarin, and Souk, as well as the Fez El-Jadid. You will also get to see the world's first university, the Karaouine Mosque. A visit to the neighborhood of leather tanners will give you a glimpse into this traditional artisanal work. Overnight stay at a hotel or a Riad.
After breakfast, you will leave the charming Medina of Fez and journey through the Middle Atlas, stopping at Ifrane, known as the "Switzerland city" in Morocco. Your next stop will be the ancient cedar forests, home to monkeys that you may get to see. You will then arrive in Midelt, where most of the population in the great Atlas lives. You will travel through Tizi N Talghemt (1,907 feet high) and witness breathtaking landscapes, including naked mountains. You will continue on to Errachidia, Tafilalet, and down the Ziz valley, taking in stunning views of palm trees. You will reach Erfoud, known as the "door of the desert", where your camels will be waiting. You will spend the night in a Nomadic camp, sleeping in the highest dunes of Erg Chebbi.
After a morning breakfast, we will depart from Merzouga desert and make a stop at Rissani, the former Sijilimasa and current economic hub for nomads who come to the weekly market to gather supplies. We will visit the vibrant and aromatic flea market, before continuing our journey to Todra Gorge and Dades Gorge. We will spend the night in a hotel.
Following a breakfast, we will take a tour of the Dades River, passing by numerous Kasbahs, and cross the Atlas Mountains to visit a nomadic family and observe their way of life. We will then proceed to the Valley of Roses, traveling through Boutaghrar and Skoura, where we will have some time to visit the famous Kasbah Amredil. In Ouarzazate, we will visit the Taourirt Kasbah and the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Aït Benhaddou Kasbah, which has served as a filming location for many movies such as Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator. We will spend the night in a hotel in Ait Benhaddou.
towards Marrakech and the Atlantic coast, where we will arrive in Essaouira, the Pearl of the Atlantic. In the afternoon, we will stop at a Riad to admire the sunset. In the evening, we will savor the delicious fish caught from the shores of Essaouira in one of its many Moroccan restaurants and take a leisurely stroll in the charming and picturesque town.
Today is a free day to explore the ancient city of Essaouira, originally known as "Mogador" by the Portuguese, with its medina, blue and white buildings, long beaches, and Portuguese colonial walls. We will spend the night at the same Riad.
In the morning, we will take a walk along the beach in Essaouira and have time for swimming and relaxation. In the afternoon, we will return to Marrakech, making some stops along the way. Upon arrival, we will transfer to our Riad.
After breakfast, our official guide will pick us up to visit the most interesting places in Marrakech, such as the Museum of Marrakech, the Medersa Ben Youssef, the Majorelle Gardens, and Saadieenas tombs. In the afternoon, we will have some free time to admire the famous Jemaa el Fna square, which comes alive at night. We will spend the night in a hotel or a Riad.
After breakfast, we have free time to explore more or to relax. We will be transferred to the airport at the appropriate time for your flight, and our service will end.
